Ray and Charles Eames Doc

Ray was a painter who never painted. Charles was a architecture school dropout. Together, their collaboration under the roof of their storied Eames Office at 901 Washington Boulevard in Venice, California would be responsible for some of the most celebrated designs of the 20th century and define American modernism. From furniture like the Eames Chair, to films like the “Powers of Ten”, to houses like the Case Study House No. 8, you hired the Eames for their ignorance and boundless curiosity and got “the best for the most for the least”. Charles & Ray Eames: The Architect and the Painter premieres on PBS Monday, December 19th from 10-11:30PM or you can catch it at IFC in Manhattan.
