I was first introduced to Hillman Curtis 10 years ago. A friend and I became absorbed in nascent Flash design and a book Hillman had authored on the subject became the trusty handbook for us boy scouts. Flash forward to August of last year and I found myself lensing a project he was directing; I was excited. I got to spend some time with him at his home in Carol Gardens. We watched low budget music videos, talked about his wild plans to build a crows nest on his roof and played with his kids. He was a good dad. Rest in Peace Hillman.
